The SpinFest weekend takes place Friday May 31 through to Sunday June 1 and is the build up to the spectacle known as the Stylus DJ Awards. During this weekend a variety of events will be happening such as the Finals for the Yaris DJ of the Year, Encore the Official Party, “It Starts with the DJ” DJ Conference, the Industry BBQ and the SpinFest Concert Series. The Toyota Yaris 2008 Stylus DJ Awards will be held on Monday June 2nd at the Capitol Event Theatre (www.eventtheatres.com) centrally located at Yonge and Eglinton with the much anticipated Pioneer after-party immediately following the ceremonies at the nearby 6 Degrees Nightclub www.sixdegreesclub.com. Complimentary transportation will be provided to the After-Party. The after-party will feature DJs from the Stylus All Stars with special performances and surprise guest appearances to keep music enthusiasts in motion. Both venues provide the perfect backdrop for a high caliber event.
Over 5,000 DJ Fans from across the country helped determine this year’s nominees by casting their vote online for their favourite DJ. In result the final round of nominees will be determined by randomly elected members of industry tastemakers. With the wealth of talent Canada has to offer, deciding this year’s winners will be a challenging task. This is one music celebration you certainly do not want to miss.
