British rockers OASIS debuted their forthcoming album in New York on Friday (12Sep08), by hiring street musicians to perform brand new tracks on the city's subway. Bandmembers Liam and Noel Gallagher handed 30 local musical groups the sheet music for their new LP and paid them to take to the streets. You know Noel and his PR skills!
All the musicians - ranging from hip-hop to classical - were paid $100 per person The band is currently taking a break while guitarist Noel Gallagher recovers from a bizarre fan attack onstage in Toronto, Canada last week (7Sep08). They were forced to cancel a gig in Manhattan on Friday, because of Gallagher's injuries.
Those injuries again? Can Noel just leave it to the street musicians at this point!
