NE-YO'S ALBUM WAS INSPIRED BY HIS DEAREST MOM!

R&B singer NE-YO's new album was inspired by the most important woman in his life - his mother. The So Sick hitmaker - real name Shaffer Smith - insists role models including Prince were a huge influence on him when he was growing up. But he is adamant the biggest driving force he ever had was his mum - and says she is exactly the sort of woman he wants to marry. And he even wrote the song Miss Independent, on his upcoming album Year of the Gentleman, about her.

Ne-Yo tells USA Today newspaper, "She is the strongest woman on the face of the planet. I’ve seen her go through unimaginable obstacles, and you would never know she had a bad day in her life. "I know this will sound really clichéd, but I need a woman like my mom.
That’s what Miss Independent is about - a woman that can achieve anything, despite whatever.”
