As I always say, SHOOT FIRST and ask questions later. Home invasions are the worst thing that can happen to anyone.

3 unlucky home invaders picked the wrong house to burglarize in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

High definition surveillance video shows three armed black males kicking in a door at a northwest Atlanta residence around 3:40 a.m. on Sept. 16.

The pistol packing homeowner surprised the home invaders as they searched the house for valuables.

The homeowner and the suspects exchanged gunfire as the burglars fled the house. One of the suspects ran through a glass door to escape the hail of gunfire.

The woman unloaded her gun at the home invaders while simultaneously calling 911 on her cell phone.

A housemate took the gun away from the woman after the shooting.

Antonio Leeks, 28, was pronounced dead in the driveway of the house. He died from a single gunshot wound to the upper body. Watch the video below.

Linda what does it feel like telling a magazine you never got over Dan Foster? How does it feel to be engaged to someone you love and 3 weeks to the wedding it's cancelled, wasting Aso Ebi, Cow money and even the venue deposit all gone.

This is what you did to my niece Adeola Olunloyo. Some people heard of this already in 2006 (Global Excellence and City People), 2013 on my Panadol headache audio which I attached below and also March 2016 in my Pulse TV interview exposing many celebrities including you.

Why do I stress so much on this sad incident? I am constantly watching how your life is going when two people are in love and a "model" ruins their wedding 3 weeks to the day and elderly family members keep asking you what or who a "model" is?  You wrecked so many relationships in your lifetime. Journalist and Professional Blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus told me every single relationship you wrecked and you know them, but nothing hurts more than ruining my niece's wedding.

So now you are telling the world that you have blogged so much that you forgot your biological clock is ticking. You are now desperate for "regular sex" like you are some hoe. That can be easily achieved on Allen Avenue or as a "Madam" in your Banana mansion. You want a man and a bunch of kids. Karma is now biting you. I'm enjoying my two successful adult children, loving motherhood and single and happy. I don't need a husband, a husband need ME! Take my advice, at 42 yo, I don't know how you are going to start a family instantly.

You may find a gold digger who wants to spend your money like the Maje Ayida and TeeBillz types. Just ask Toke Makinwa and Tiwa Savage who are now single lovely ladies. My advice to you young lady is not to rush shit and accept your mistakes. Deola Olunloyo has moved on, Dan Foster has a lovely family and you are alone, single and desperate telling your friends to introduce you to single guys. I was shocked reading this. A teenager caught up in a double shooting in Florida that left his older brother dead has been quietly deported to Canada following a remarkable standoff between U.S. federal authorities and the state judge who sentenced him, The Canadian Press has learned.

American immigration agents escorted Marc Wabafiyebazu from Miami to Montreal earlier this month where he was reunited with his mother, Roxanne Dube.

"It's done. It's done. It's done," Dube, a senior diplomat, said in an interview from Ottawa. "He has his life ahead of him." Now 16, Wabafiyebazu is back home in Ottawa studying privately for his high school equivalency and reconnecting with family and friends as he relaunches his life shattered by the gunfire in March last year that killed Jean Wabafiyebazu, 18, and another teen.

Although authorities never accused the younger sibling of shooting anyone, he nevertheless found himself facing a minimum 40-year prison sentence on charges of felony first-degree murder. Instead, in a plea deal rarely seen before, Wabafiyebazu pleaded no contest in February to reduced charges of felony third-degree murder.

OMG! When I heard this, I was stunned and shocked. Fernandez died so young at 24 yo and so talented. Three people died in this tragic mishap early Sunday morning.

“The Miami Marlins organization is devastated by the tragic loss of Jose Fernandez,” the team said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time.”

Sunday’s Marlins-Braves game at Marlins Stadium was canceled following the news, the team statement announced. Fernandez was originally scheduled to pitch on Sunday, but had his start pushed back to Monday.

Multiple sources reported and confirmed the news on Sunday morning including Ken Rosenthal, and Marlins beat writer Clark Spencer. According to WFOR-TV in Miami, authorities were notified of the accident at about 3 a.m.:

Upon arrival, a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Fireboat found the boat upside down and crashed into rocks. Three victims were found dead and rescuers continued searching for more people. The boat involved in the crash is approximately thirty feet long.

Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred issued the following statement Sunday:

“All of Baseball is shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Miami Marlins pitcher José Fernández. He was one of our game’s great young stars who made a dramatic impact on and off the field since his debut in 2013. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, the Miami Marlins organization and all of the people he touched in his life.”

Fernandez had been one of the MLB’s most captivating young pitchers since his debut in 2013, when he won the NL Rookie of the Year. His 2014 and 2015 seasons were cut short because of Tommy John surgery, but Fernandez returned to his ace form this year. His 16-8 record, 2.86 ERA and 253 strikeouts (second in baseball) made him one of the candidates for NL Cy Young. In what will be final MLB performance, Fernandez threw eight shutout innings on Tuesday night, striking out 12 and allowing just three hits against the first-place Washington Nationals.

Also captivating was his story. Fernandez was born in Cuba and successfully defected when he was 15, his third attempt to leave the country. That, too, was also tragic. In their escape from Cuba, his mother had fallen off the boat they were on and young Jose swam 60 feet in chopping waves to save her. He carried her to the boat on his back.

Fernandez eventually took up residence in Florida, where he became a baseball star Braulio Alonso High School in Tampa and an eventual first-round pick by the Marlins in the 2011 draft. He became a U.S. citizen in 2015.

Remember that night outside Visions night club in the parking lot when everyone gushed out and I just finished a quick interview with him? Tiny was so kind to take this picture and TIP was so tired that night.

Two weeks before police say Derren Sorrells and his brother murdered basketball star Dwyane Wade's cousin in Chicago on Friday, he walked out of a state prison after serving less than four years of a six-year sentence for possessing a stolen car.

A visibly angry Eddie Johnson, the city's police superintendent, said the case underscored the need to keep violent criminals behind bars longer.

"This reprehensible act of violence is an example of why we need to change the way we treat habitual offenders in the city of Chicago," Johnson said on Sunday.

On Monday, Mayor Rahm Emanuel weighed in, saying, "We keep coming upon the same facts: repeat gun offenders who continually run in and out of the criminal justice system with no consequences, who are back on the streets wreaking havoc," according to the Chicago Tribune.

Violence-plagued Chicago is not alone facing the problem of recidivism - the tendency for criminals to continue breaking the law even after being punished.

Across the United States, more than two-thirds of defendants released from state prisons were rearrested within five years, with the majority arrested within a year of release, according to a 2014 survey released by the U.S. Department of Justice.

At least 95 percent of all state prisoners will be released at some point.

Some criminal justice experts caution that limiting early release programs or imposing harsher sentences could backfire by increasing costs, straining overcrowded prisons and eliminating incentives for prisoners to behave well while incarcerated.

"It's easy after the fact to say: 'If I were king of the forest, I would never have let these two guys out,'" said Jeffrey Butts, a professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York who studies the effectiveness of criminal justice programs.

Juanita Davila, with 18 years of experience, and Toamalama Scanlan, with 10 years of experience, both underwent surgery after suffering bullet wounds to their heads and their necks, according to a statement from the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect, Thong Vang, 37, was also hospitalized with minor injuries after the incident, which occurred at 8:30 a.m., the statement said.

Vang is a known gang member who served 14 years in prison for multiple rape charges before he was released in 2014. The sheriff's office said he was at the jail to visit someone Saturday morning and became disgruntled when he was told he could not cut the line. He was told to take a seat but refused, and a "struggle ensued between Vang and the officers," at which point, Vang pulled out a handgun and shot Davila and Scanlan, the sheriff's office said.

Vang first fled and didn't surrender until after a Taser was deployed on him, but he finally "conveyed to officers he was giving up and wanted to be arrested," the sheriff's office said. He was being held on felony charges.

He was later charged with attempted murder, being a felon in possession of a gun, and a bringing drugs into jail. He was also placed on a parole hold.

Davila is a grandmother and Scanlan is a father of six, Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims said.

#HNNGunViolence Why were #Aurora Massacre SHOOTING survivors SUED for $700,000?

DENVER — They had survived brain damage, paralysis and the deaths of their children. For four years, they met in secret as a group. Now, they were finally prepared to settle with the Aurora movie theater that became the site of one of the deadliest massacres in U.S. history.

Marcus Weaver kept a calm facade, but writhed with anxiety within. His dreams often return him to the theater, the sounds of gunshots and the feeling of his friend's lifeless body slumped against him. After he escaped, he found a bullet hole in his shoulder.

On a conference call, the federal judge overseeing the case told the plaintiffs' attorneys that he was prepared to rule in the theater chain's favor. He urged the plaintiffs to settle with Cinemark, owner of the Century Aurora 16 multiplex where the July 20, 2012, shooting occurred. They had 24 hours.

But before that deadline, the settlement would collapse and four survivors of the massacre would be ordered to pay the theater chain more than $700,000.

The Los Angeles Times corroborated this account with four parties who were present at the settlement conference but declined to be identified because the negotiations were private.

A separate set of survivors had just suffered a devastating defeat in state court, where a jury of six decided that Cinemark could not have foreseen the events of that night, when James Holmes killed 12 people and injured 70 others in a 10-minute rampage at a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises."

The survivors, some of whom had two or three attorneys with them, were told that the state case had decided the issue — Cinemark was not liable for the shooting, and U.S. District Judge R. Brooke Jackson, who oversaw the federal case, was about to issue an order saying as much.

The federal lawsuit was effectively over.

But Jackson wanted the survivors and Cinemark to end the case with a settlement. It was 8 a.m. June 23. For the next eight hours, attorneys for both sides inched closer to a deal.

At 4 p.m., Cinemark's attorneys presented a settlement offer. Before it was read, a federal magistrate cornered Weaver to speak with him one-on-one. He asked Weaver to remember the slow pace of change in the civil rights movement, and told him that changing theater safety would also be slow.

"It was the biggest smack in the face," Weaver said. "He was basically telling us, you're right, they're basically at fault, but there's justice and then there's true justice."

It wasn't a good deal, Weaver thought: $150,000 split among the 41 plaintiffs.

Weaver leaned in close to his attorney.

"That's it?" he asked.

"That's it," Phil Hardman replied.

But the settlement would achieve the one thing Weaver had been pushing for, an acknowledgment that the theater chain would take new measures to protect patrons. Still, something was worrying him.

"It was the 12th hour, we were all feeling the same way. We all knew they were liable. We knew they were at fault," Weaver said. "(The settlement) was a slap in the face. But I said, 'Let's go for it because it's better than nothing.'"

The deal came with an implied threat: If the survivors rejected the deal, moved forward with their case and lost, under Colorado law, they would be responsible for the astronomical court fees accumulated by Cinemark.

The choice for the survivors was clear, Weaver said.

"Either seek justice and go into debt, or take that pitiful offering of money and the improved public safety," Weaver said.

The plaintiffs and their attorneys all seemed to agree. They decided on a split of $30,000 each to the three most critically injured survivors. The remaining 38 plaintiffs would equally share the remaining $60,000.

Attorneys with Cinemark drafted a news release to distribute the next day.

Then one plaintiff rejected the deal.

The plaintiff, who had been gravely wounded in the shooting, wanted more money than the proposed share of the settlement. The Times is not naming the plaintiff because the plaintiff could not be reached for comment.

Weaver's vision briefly blurred. The eight hours they had spent negotiating the deal, the weeks of the failed state court trial, the four years of anger at the theater since the shooting — all of it was for nothing.

"It was done then," Weaver said.

He removed himself as a plaintiff immediately. So did 36 other people. Four plaintiffs remained on the case the next day, June 24, when Jackson handed down the order that Cinemark was not liable for the damages.

The court costs in the state case were $699,000. The costs in the federal case are expected to be far more.

"A blind guy in a dark alley could have seen (the state verdict) coming," Hardman, Weaver's attorney, said.

Several plaintiffs and attorneys, including those who would not comment on the settlement negotiations, expressed frustration with the way the state case was handled.

In that case, a New York attorney representing 27 people paid one expert $22,000 to testify. Cinemark paid five experts $500,000 to testify. Most damaging to their case, the state plaintiffs were not permitted to enter a crucial piece of evidence before the jury — a May 2012 warning from the Department of Homeland Security to theater chains nationwide concerning the potential for a mass-casualty attack on a theater.

"I strongly think that this guy was trying to make a name for himself and he wanted to get ahead of the curve," Weaver said. "You've got this guy from New York representing people in Colorado who were probably misguided, to be honest."

The case put forward in state court was so weak, the federal plaintiffs felt, that a rumor circulated among them that the case was a setup by Cinemark designed to fail.

"That's ridiculous," said Marc Bern, the attorney who argued the state case and is known for representing rescue workers from the Sept. 11 attacks. "We had all the resources possible. The only expert we needed was a security expert."

In August 2015, Holmes was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, avoiding the death penalty.

Weaver, 45, has married and had a child since the shooting, a blue-eyed girl named Maggie. He still goes to therapy, which he said has helped him. The way the case ended, however, will never leave him.

"Theaters aren't any safer," Weaver said. "It's almost like everything was for naught."
