Fame has lost its appeal for SIR ELTON JOHN because it cost his friends their lives. The rocker admits the thought of becoming a famous musician was very attractive when he was starting out, but now he's convinced it's a curse that kills. He tells Parade magazine, "Princess Diana, Gianni Versace, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, all dead.
