#HNNGayVoices Top 3 Questions for @BisiAlimi this #WorldAidsDay #HNNImpact

It has been a very busy World Aids Day around the globe and I spoke to one of Nigeria's busiest Gay Rights Activist, the fabulous British based Bisi Alimi. He spoke to me about living positively with HIV after 12 years. Alimi recently got married to his husband Anthony last month in a ceremony that attracted several guests from around the globe. It was on the cover of Nigeria's Punch newspapers. I asked him THREE questions this #WorldAidsDay.

1. In a sentence what does it feel like living positively like this with HIV. Activism, Awards, Marriage etc.
If there is anything life has thought me since 12 years ago when I was diagnosed with HIV, it had been there is always a rainbow after every heavy rain. My life can only be summed up in terms of heavy rain and rainbow. I personally thought my life was over 12 years ago and I can't believe I will look back and see how being positive has positively transformed my life positively
2. Your message to people living with HIV in Nigeria?

HIV is just a virus, what kills is stigma, and this is the power over your life you handed over to people so they can control you, Shame you, dehumanise you. The only person that can take back that power is you. Live positively, take your pills, eat healthy, love healthy and live healthy and the rest is story. I know there are structural barriers to good self confidence for people living with HIV in Nigeria but things won't change until we challenge it

3. Your message to Aso Rock on the anti-gay law hampering treatment of homosexuals with HIV who are in hiding?
The government needs to know its responsibility is to every Nigerian and not to a few. Public health issues should never be discussed in the framework of religion and morality. There should be increase involvement in HIV prevention and treatment, one that is devoid of hate, bigotry and religious fundamentalism that seeks to control and regulate.

Why CROSS DRESSING is a #Yoruba thing #HNNGayVoices

Denrele Edun (Twitter)
Denrele Edun, Seun the Diva, Bobrisky all Yoruba males who love to cross dress. I still don't consider Bobrisky as a cross dresser as he is still wearing pants (trousers) and t-shirts. Denrele though wears actual dresses and gowns like EJ Johnson. Seun wears more shorts and jackets and two wear more make up than one. Denrele rarely wears make up but Bobrisky and Seun do.

Denrele sure has the long girlie hair. So why do our Yoruba boys grow up with their own individuality? Some say they grew up in homes full of girls just like Caitlyn Jenner and the Kardashians. But it's not always necessarily true. There is a brand associated with them. Nigerians call them gay and they are not. Once you dress unusual in this country you are presumed gay. Just look at Charly boy. He went thru it too but he had a female alter ego.

However you see it, this is the future to come. The anti-gay law does not affect them. They are not gay. They are simply transgenders. Let people be themselves. These Yoruba men are making waves and money thru appearances--KOO

Gigi Gorgeous: Model Says She Was Detained at Dubai Airport Because She Is Transgender #HNNGayvoices

"How you can be denied entry somewhere just because of who you are is seriously disgusting and also very scary," she wrote on Facebook and Instagram. Gorgeous said she was detained for five hours. She told her Facebook fans:

"After being detained and held at the Dubai airport for over 5 hours, this was the moment my baby came to rescue me. Yesterday was one of the scariest moments of my entire life and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. How you can be denied entry somewhere just because of who you are is seriously disgusting and also very scary. This further proves the need for CHANGE. I am now on my way to somewhere much more accepting. Safe and sound and happy. I love you guys|"

A day before that she wrote to her Facebook fans asking them where they think she's jetting off to next. Only to be denied entry.

After the whole ordeal, she later posted this picture signifying NO DUBAI

Is GAY Nigerian personality DATING Cailtyn Jenner? #HNNGayvoices

Caitlyn_Brotha2
Caitlyn and Bisi Alimi
Mediatakeout reported that Caitlyn Jenner was seen stepping out in LONDON for dinner with friends. Caitlyn was seen heading to Les Ambassadeurs Casino and Restaurant with a MALE COMPANION. She appeared to be on a date. Well I recognize that male. It's Nigerian gay rights activist Bisi Alimi. Alimi has been a fierce outspoken character against Nigeria's anti-gay law. They may simply be friends.

So it does appears the whole family are dating black people. When you go black, you never go back as they say. Kourtney is dating Quincy Combs, Kendall is dating A$AP Rocky, Kris is dating Corey Gamble, Khloe is dating Trey Songz, Kylie is dating Tyga and Kim is married to Kanye.

Britain warns gay tourists against travel to North Carolina and Mississippi #HNNGayvoices

Britain has issued new advice to gay tourists about travel to North Carolina and Mississippi, states that have recently passed laws deemed as discriminatory.

"The U.S, is an extremely diverse society and attitudes towards [lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender] people differ hugely across the country," according to the statement posted on the U.K.'s Foreign Office website earlier this week. "LGBT travelers may be affected by legislation passed recently in the states of North Carolina and Mississippi."

"Before travelling please read our general travel advice for the LGBT community," it added. Watch the video above and READ MORE here.

Justin Trudeau will become the first Canadian prime minister to march in the GAY PRIDE parade July 2016 #HNNGayVoices

Toronto’s Pride organizers say Justin Trudeau will become the first prime minister to participate in the festivities. Trudeau is expected to march in the parade on July 3.

The city’s first-ever Pride Month launches June 1 with a theme of belonging and inclusion. Along with Trudeau, Finance Minister Bill Morneau, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Toronto Mayor John Tory are also slated to take part in the festivities.

Organizers also have said gay Syrian refugees will have a place at the Pride events. Canada is a very gay friendly country and I lived there 5 years on a refugee visa.

What It’s Like to Be Raised by Gay and Lesbian Parents #HNNGayVoices

hope

When Gabriela Herman was in high school, her mother came out as gay. Herman’s mother and father separated, and eventually her mom married her longtime partner.

“It was very traumatic for me,” Herman said. “I didn’t speak to my mom for a year. Having this major thing happen in life and not being able to discuss it … we tried going to family therapy a couple of times, which was disastrous; I wish we had pushed harder to keep going.”

Watch Former Governor Jesse Ventura rip Kim Davis the anti-gay marriage clerk #HNNGayvoices

If you don't like a law, break it, right? Former Governor Mike Huckabee has told Kentucky country clerk Kim Davis and her followers that their religious beliefs can supersede the Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage. What happened to the separation of church and state?

@YNaija unfairly rips @BisiAlimi for expressing his views on Adeboye's new $65M jet and luxury airliner plans #HNNGayvoices

Exiled Gay Rights Activist Bisi Alimi
versus YNaija magazine happening now on my twitter @HNNAfrica. That magazine loves to run their mouth and accuses others of doing the same. Alimi says he has the secrets of YNaija under his fingertips and I even have some dirt on how that magazine was even started and financed. Who are the faces behind the keyboards who write stupid silly stories about me and even abuse me on their posts? Maybe Alimi is the one who will end up bringing them to their downfall. I am a gay rights activist by the way and dare anyone to question my motives. If Nigeria does not understand what human rights means, they need to hit the dictionary! Many already called me a lesbian because I've been celibate for 9 years and support my gay and lesbian pals. I already once called Adeboye an undercover gay pastor simply because of his visit to the Atlanta Pastor who had sex with male boys in his congregation. Stop castigating gays Adeboye when you are going to visit some who are YOUR FRIENDS. That's hypocrisy!  Below are Alimi's tweets to me and his post that generated YNaija's controversial post

"Pastor Adeboye is an epitome of greed, corruption and everything bad that has enslaved Nigerians, not just at home but globally. This greedy man of GOSH is parasite that lives on the poverty of his church members. Nigeria has one of the highest rate of youth unemployment in the world. Nigeria health service is in a sorry state. Here we have a supposedly "MAN OF GOSH" living fat on the vulnerability of his members. This man, now has one of his pastors as the Vice President of Nigeria. The separation of church from the state in Nigeria is like trying to separate gin from lemonade.
I know this post will attract some hate and bigotry, but if you can be honest with yourself and face the truth instead of acting like the "idiots" some of you are good at acting. How has religion and men of GOSH improved the quality of life (I meant quality and not standard) of everyone of you? Still you will go to church on sunday, give your widow's mite to these thieves in the night that only come to destroy your essence as human being and they in turn will use your money to build houses you can't rent. Schools you can't attend, hospitals you can't pay for and planes that you will never be close enough to take a selfie with not to even talk of getting on board.
Wake up NIGERIANS from your sleep and slumber, see these greedy, arrogant and sly men for who are they. Take a week and not go to church, turn that energy to question everything you know. Take it to know something you dont know before. Switch off from everything you have been taught and open your mind eyes. Don't be deceived, these men are after your money and not the goodness of mankind."

#Uganda celebrates #GayPride this weekend after law was scrapped! #HNNGayvoices

Participants in the annual gay pride in Entebbe on August 9, 2014.
Uganda's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and intersex (LGBTI) community is preparing for its annual gay pride parade, taking place on Saturday 8 August. This year's event has special significance -- it's been a year since the controversial anti-gay law was scrapped.

Pride parades are held all over the world and are an opportunity for the LGBTI community to come together and raise awareness of their rights -- and Uganda has been no different.

The inaugural gay pride march was held in the city of Entebbe, some 20 miles south of the capital Kampala, in 2012. That was also the year the anti-homosexuality bill was tabled. "Organizing pride at that point was an act of defiance," explains Neela Ghoshal, senior researcher on the LGBT rights program at Human Rights Watch. "It was the LGBTI community saying: 'We are here and we are not going away.'"

Gay Pride Parade Murder Should Prompt Pro LGBT Reforms in Israel #HNNGayVoices

Shira Banki

The murder of 16-year-old Shira Banki and stabbing of five other people whose only sin was participating in Jerusalem’s Gay Pride Parade elicited shock and denunciations from across the political spectrum.

In a video clip released after Banki died of her wounds, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “Shira was a brave girl. She was murdered by a scoundrel because she supported a simple idea: Every person is entitled to live his or her life in dignity and safety.”

But Israel’s legal and political reality doesn’t match Netanyahu’s message of equality. Aside from the fact that one of the Knesset’s deputy speakers is the man who organized the “beasts’ parade” in response to the Jerusalem Pride Parade, and that members of the same party – one that has systematically thwarted legislative efforts to grant equal rights to members of the LGBT community – serve as the education and justice ministers, Israel’s legal code still suffers from embarrassing signs of discrimination against this community’s members.

Thousands Rally Across Israel Following Gay Pride Stabbing Attack #HNNGayVoices

Getty Images
In a pre-recorded video address intended for the demonstrators, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the attack was aimed "at all our children."Thousands of Israelis attended demonstrations across the country on Saturday, two days after an ultra-Orthodox Jewish man allegedly stabbed six people at Jerusalem's gay pride parade, leaving one teenager in critical condition.

Large rallies were held in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and other smaller events elsewhere throughout the country where numerous speakers warned of dire consequences for Israeli society unless authorities take firmer action to root out homophobia.

"What happened in Jerusalem goes against the spirit of (the Jewish) people... In every society there are extreme, murderous elements and regrettably it is true even among us but society and the state is judged by how the mainstream and the leadership acts ... we will continue to lead our country against hatred and homophobia," Netanyahu said.

Profile: Meet Remi Bamishile, A Nigerian filled with HATE on Gays and brainwashed by the bible.

Remi D. Bamishile via Facebook
Since America's gay marriage has been legalized in all 50 states, Nigerians have been speaking out against such acts. I have always supported gays and lesbians and that remains so. Look below at a typical brainwashed Nigerian thread on my page. They are FIXATED by the bible. Below is a troll named Remi Denzel Bamishile calling homosexuality bullshit "Oshi". I will not surround myself with homophobic people. Nigeria is full of them as the country has an anti-gay law.

    • Remi Denzel Oh really! Well i don't see any point in what she said there. When she has eyes n ears and can also read what God says about it and the condemnation of the act of same sex, both in the Bible and the Quran
    • Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo Remi I don't believe in any fucking Bible and Quaran. Respect the people who believe in GOD and not books. people like you need to channel your hateful energy to something positive. try moving to US, Cdn or UK and learn what gays and lesbians do for a living, how they contribute to society and more. Don't get God into something he didn't say. Have you met him? The pope says God does not call anyone with a generic name so why are homosexuals different?

    • Stella Abiola Remi, since I have been in the UK my opinions about gay people av changed. I come to realise its just who they are and what they feel! I have gay colleagues and pals they're nice. Who am i to judge? Am sorry to say no matter how long and how hard we take, gay right will happen in Africa. Its only a matter of time
    • Remi Denzel I don't and won't hate anyone i just hate what they practice that is it. Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo and Stella Abiola do you remember the story of Sodom and Gomorra and you can tell what God did to that city then! So what wrong is wrong and right is rightsimple as that. Why didn't God just created another man after he created Adam instead of Eve? He has his reason why he created man and woman. It is wrong so wrong you can't see a male dog making out with a male dog neither any animal making out with same sex. Gays are human but i hate the act.
    • Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo Remi you do not have to tag me on my own page. if you were on my personal friends list, its an act I despise. I read every comment. Sodom and Gomorrah is a story in the bible. I repeat, the bible is fiction. u are too brainwashed by this book.

    • Remi Denzel Oh really it's a story? Well i think this is getting out of hands if you don't believe in the word of God writing in the bible, I won't argue neither exchange words with you on that. But believe it or not heaven is real and hell is real.

    • Remi Denzel Yes Sir Dele Akintububo Those who have ears to hear, let them hear (Mark 4:9) And to my sister no one is preaching hate here, you are just misunderstanding the points. Gays are human and what they practice is an act they chose blindly which is ungodly and wrong that i hate. You were born of a woman by the result of Sexual transmission between a man and a woman not by man and man or woman and woman, So check which is wrong or right Madam.
    • Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo No preaching on my threads, I will BAN you.
