DEBORAH COX, has given birth to her third child today. The 3-time JUNO Award winner and her husband and manager Lascelles Stephens welcomed baby Kaila Michelle at 11:55am on Monday, February 23rd. Weighing in at a healthy 7.7 lbs, and Deborah says “she’s perfect and we feel very blessed.” Deborah is doing well and resting at a hospital in Miami, Florida, where the couple and her two other children reside.It’s been a busy month for Deborah as it is – her album, The Promise, has been nominated for a 2009 JUNO Award for Best R&B Album of the Year, and will also be a presenter at the award show, held in Vancouver on March 29th. The first single, Beautiful U.R. is days away from certified Platinum in Canada, and the video is currently #2 on the MuchMoreMusic Countdown.
Cox's 1998 song "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here" held the record for longest-running number one single on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (14 weeks), a record held for nearly eight years. Cox has achieved nine number-one hits on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart.
