The Oyo state
Labour party Director of Public affairs Dare Ogunlana told me that their volunteers went to put some posters up in the Oluyole area and the Operation Burst mobile police officers attacked them with the butt of their guns. These volunteers as you can see for yourself were very injured. I spoke to a source in the police department and this police source has something else to say telling me they were working on orders of the Governor (Ajimobi) who wanted his posters prominently displayed in the Oluyole area.
In a separate development in the same area, sources tell me that Angela Folarin, Teslim's wife spotted their billboard being taken down in the ring rd axis when she came out her car and photographed the act when the Operation Burst Commander ordered his men to seize the camera. When Angela told her driver to flee the scene, they followed her all the way to the Shoprite where she was said to take cover. Sources and some eyewitnesses say her car was shot at. I have not been able to reach Senator Folarin her husband and Oyo governorship candidate for PDP.
Has Ajimobi now resorted to do or die politics? It is to be recalled that the Molete DPO and DTO were both shot with the DPO killed last November at an APC rally. APC is now using the cops? I hope Mrs Folarin is OK. Governor Akala's PR man sent me the photos of his poster volunteers and it's gonna be a big news week as I go see the police commissioner and speak to other candidates.
Just last week, President Jonathan came by here to campaign for Folarin's husband Teslim. All went well as PDP was always the one blamed for mayhem in the state. Not so now?
