Was this an immigration fraud scandal? Well lots of people DIED as a result. Crowding and stampedes and now comes word that Moro was arrested and being quizzed by Nigeria's anti-graft agency the EFCC.
Former Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Moro was on Monday taken in for questioning, alongside a former Permanent Secretary and a director over N650 million immigration recruitment scandal.
In March 2014, over 6 million applied for 5,000 immigration jobs, following the nationwide advertisement by the Interior Ministry.
A shoddy process coupled with poor logistics led to concurrent stampedes during the simultaneous tests- leading to the death of several job seekers in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Minna.
Abba Moro and the two other suspects were re-invited by the EFCC ahead of their arraignment in court on Tuesday.
