Me and music artist Jus RandyThe 2011 Youth Day kicked off with a press conference and industry showcase at the El Mocambo in downtown Toronto. Tylaine Duggan, the Founder of Youth Day hosted the event and made a special announcement on her retirement and handing over to the Chair of the Youth Board, and youngest daughter of Founder Tylaine Duggan is PENNY LAINE NICHOLLS who has held the position of artist management for the last 5 years. She will take over duties when Tylaine officially retires this year. Several artists were on hand and HipHossip spoke to all of them. Ray Robinson, Najjah Calibur, Farahri, Carl Henry III, Golden Chyle, Church Chizzle and more. Constable Scott Mills of Toronto Police Social Media and Communications was also present at the event to show support.
Let's make this 5th year which is now officially an "Event of Municipal Significance" in TO, the biggest year yet! Let's make our young artists feel truly significant and help build and encourage their self-esteem - please come out and support them on Sunday JULY 24th at Yonge-Dundas Square, and applaud their positive efforts...
