BREAKING UPDATE: Arrest Made in the Houston Nightclub Triple Murder with Trae Tha Truth Shot and Wounded!

Feanyichi Uvukansi: Police Handout
The Houston Chronicle reports that A 24-year-old man has been charged with capital murder in connection with a shooting that killed three people and injured two others including local rapper Trae Tha Truth after the performer’s concert at a southwest Houston club.

“We are looking for other suspects,” Smith said Wednesday. Feanyichi Uvukansi was arrested and charged late Tuesday night, said Kese Smith, spokesman for the Houston Police Department.

Two weeks ago, three people – Coy Thompson, 23, Erica Rochelle Dotson, 30, and Carlos Durell Dorsey, 31 – were killed when gunfire broke out in a parking lot after a Trae Tha Truth performance at a club at 9850 Westpark. The club, which has gone through several name changes recently, was known as both Diamonds Gentleman’s Club, Club Blue and formerly Scores Cabaret.

The rapper, whose legal name is Frazier Thompson III, (no relation to Coy Thompson) and 37-year-old Willie Watkins were shot and wounded in the incident.

A woman answering the phone at Uvukansi’s parents’ home in Houston declined to comment.

Uvukansi has an extensive criminal history that includes 2008 convictions for misdemeanor marijuana possession, misdemeanor criminal mischief, a felony possession of a controlled substance, a felony burglary charge that appears to have been reduced to a misdemeanor criminal trespass charge and felony assault of a public servant. He served three years in prison and was released last September.

Records show that at the time of the shooting, Uvukansi was out on bond on charges of marijuana possession and retaliation. He remains at the Harris County Jail.

Police have said that Coy Thompson, also known as “Poppa C,” was the intended target.

Coy Thompson received threats, police said, after becoming involved in a domestic dispute. Police also have said he was involved in a shooting on Nov. 25 at an after-hours club that killed Dominic Levar Brown, his uncle. Brown, whose stage name was Money Clip D. Brown, was reportedly Trae’s top assistant.

I have been on the phone all day doing interviews with the District attorney's office as well as the Houston Police Department. In the next post I will detail some new developments I have learned in this tragedy. Uvukansi had GANG ties specifically with the CRIPS and Poppa C may have been a BLOOD
