Country's favorite redhead is coming to CMT starting August 1! The hit series, Reba, will be on weeknights at 7/6c. Big news, y'all! Oklahoma-born and bred superstar Reba McEntire’s sitcom begins airing in syndication on CMT starting Aug. 1, McEntire and the cable station announced today.
“Reba” will kick off primetime weeknights on CMT from 6 to 8 p.m. The series ran for six successful seasons, totaling 127 episodes, according to CMT.com.
Also, the network will air seven straight hours of Reba in a fan-voted marathon on Aug. 18. Fans can vote on CMT’s Facebook page to pick their favorite episodes of the sitcom.
Reba, which aired on The WB and later The CW from 2001-07, follows Reba Hart (McEntire) as she tackles parenthood and other obstacles along the way. After her dentist husband of 20 years, Brock (Christopher Rich), leaves her for his dental hygienist, Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman), Reba’s seemingly perfect world is turned upside down.
The new syndication deal for “Reba” follows this spring’s news that McEntire’s new sitcom “Malibu Country” will debut in November on ABC.
“Malibu Country” stars McEntire as a woman who moves her mother (Lily Tomlin) and three kids from Nashville, Tenn., to Malibu, Calif., after her good ‘ol boy, rock-star husband cheats on her and swindles most of their money. Once there, McEntire – whose character will again be named Reba, because hey, why mess with what works? – will try to revive her own singing career and keep herself and her kids from being corrupted by the materialistic and rarefied Malibu world they now calls home. The series co-stars Sara Rue, Julietta Angelo, Justin Prentice, Jai Rodriguez and Owen Teague.
