On June 25^th 2009, we had nothing thrilling to hear mid afternoon when twitter still in its early stages CRASHED for the first time. I was working in a Pharmacy in Canada and the Producers on AC360 Anderson Cooper's show called me to tell me that MJ died and they wanted to know about Demerol which was the suspect drug at the time. Later Propofol was the drug that ultimately caused the lethal combo that killed Jackson. 

Michael Jackson DIED!  The King of pop who had battled so many obstacles with his health and drug abuse issues had now died of a lethal overdose combination. How could it happen? What went down to lead up to this? We learned later that a doctor who had been treating Jackson had been under pressure by the singer to make sure he was in tip top shape for the upcoming comeback tour that will never be.

Jackson who was the King of several music awards passed away. In as much as I have been a Pharmacist for 26 years, I was stunned at the combination of drugs Jackson was given. The doctor did not use professional and ethical discretion. He was convicted and went to jail. Meanwhile Jackson’s children and family as a whole had to move on. 

Paris the oldest child had her own emotional times and is watched closely on twitter by media around the world. There have been many memorials and specials on TV, radio etc. We can never forget this multiaward King of pop. Rest in Peace Michael. I am glad I got to see his historical Budapest concert. Thank you for the memories Michael. 5 years!!

REMEMBERING THE KING OF POP MICHAEL JACKSON 4 YEARS LATER. AUGUST 29TH 1958-JUNE 25TH 2009.

It is hard not to forget the events that happened in 2009 when Michael Jackson passed away suddenly. We all knew there was a drug problem, Michael had a lot of issues with schedule, work and stamina as he was preparing for that one big comeback that never happened. At the end of the day, he was MURDERED by his own doctor. Today is now 4 years a legend has gone. How do you best remember Michael? His music no doubt!

In a new revelation by the Associated Press, reports that Michael Jackson's inability to learn new dance moves and remember the lyrics to his songs were symptoms that the singer was totally sleep deprived by the time of his death, a sleep expert told a jury Friday.

Charles Czeisler said reports by workers on Jackson's ill-fated comeback concerts that the entertainer was losing weight, exhibiting signs of paranoia and his condition seemed to be deteriorating were consistent with someone who hadn't gotten any real sleep in a long time.

The sleep deprivation was likely caused by Jackson's use of the anesthetic propofol, which Czeisler said would put the singer in a drug-induced coma and not meet his body's need for actual sleep. Studies showed that similar levels of sleep deprivation resulted in the deaths of laboratory animals and would likely cause the death of a human, he said.

The extreme nature of Jackson's sleep deprivation would have shortened the singer's life unless he received appropriate treatment, Czeisler said. With proper treatment, Jackson could have continued to tour and perform for many years, he testified.

Czeisler relied heavily on summaries of testimony provided by a plaintiff's lawyer and emails from choreographers and others working on Jackson's "This Is It" tour to form his opinion. The testimony detailed Jackson's missed rehearsals and reports that he was picking up dance moves slowly, as well as that he requested a teleprompter to display lyrics to his songs.

"The meticulous detailing of his deterioration here was both profound and sad," Czeisler said.

The Harvard professor and sleep researcher is testifying as a sleep expert in a lawsuit filed by the singer's mother against concert promoter AEG Live LLC.

On cross-examination by AEG defense attorney Kathryn Cahan, the researcher acknowledged that he hadn't reviewed actual testimony from the case, including statements from AEG executives that they thought the singer appeared fine and had stellar rehearsals before his death.

Czeisler, who is being paid $950 an hour for his work on the case, said he reached his opinion after reviewing deposition transcripts, medical records and other evidence shown to jurors during Katherine Jackson's eight-week trial against AEG.

A lawyer for Katherine Jackson summarized the evidence used to form the basis for Czeisler's opinion in a 17-minute, 1,833 word question that caused the trial to grind to a halt on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.

Michael Koskoff's inquiry was posed as a hypothetical question to Czeisler that included a summary of testimony, passages of emails already shown to jurors and other evidence presented during trial.

A judge said the question contained details that are inadmissible in the trial and misstated several other details. Superior Court Yvette Palazuelos opted not to strike the question from the record but allowed Koskoff to clarify it. That process took another 19 minutes on Friday.

Attorneys spent roughly an hour arguing over the structure of the lengthy question, leaving jurors waiting for nearly 30 minutes on Friday.

Czeisler earned more than $250 listening to the initial question, and more than $300 listening to Koskoff clarify it. Czeisler is a Harvard-educated sleep expert who has consulted on sleep issues for sports teams, the Rolling Stones, ex-NBA player Shaquille O'Neal and government agencies such as the CIA and U.S. Marshals Service.

In all, he estimated that he had spent 120 hours on the case, which would earn him $114,000.

Katherine Jackson's negligent hiring suit claims AEG Live is responsible for her son's death because it failed to properly investigate Conrad Murray, who was convicted of giving Jackson a fatal dose of propofol, and missed warning signs about his health.

AEG denies it hired Murray or could have known that the former cardiologist was giving Jackson propofol as a sleep aid.

Breaking News: Michael Jackson's Tiger "Thriller" is DEAD!

The AP reports that Thriller, a tiger that belonged to Michael Jackson when the entertainer lived at his Neverland ranch, has died of lung cancer at actress-activist Tippi Hedren's wildlife preserve in California.The 13-year-old, 375-pound tiger died June 11, Hedren said Wednesday. A necropsy was performed and the tiger was cremated. Staff workers will hold a private service when the ashes are buried in a section of the preserve set aside for animals that die there.

Thriller and her brother Sabu were born on Nov. 20, 1998, and lived with Jackson until May 4, 2006, Hedren said.

When Jackson left Neverland for good, his veterinarian asked Hedren to take the cats at her Shambala Preserve in Acton, about 50 miles north of Los Angeles.

Other Neverland animals, including giraffes, flamingos, orangutans, elephants and dozens of reptiles, were sent to other sanctuaries in other parts of the country.

Shambala didn't have a lot of room, but Hedren built a $79,000 habitat next to the preserve's lake and there were trees and a hill and Thriller had a great life with Sabu, she said.

"Thriller was a real piece of work, one gutsy girl. She ruled Sabu's life. It was humorous to watch the whole relationship. She did things to him that male tigers would normally never allow. She would steal food from him. That's unheard of. She ruled the roost, was very independent and tough," Hedren said.

Unlike many of the animals at the preserve, Thriller and Sabu arrived at the compound in excellent health physically and emotionally, Hedren said.

There are 15 tigers at the compound, but Sabu is now alone in the habitat he shared with Thriller and he'll probably stay that way, Hedren said.

Tigers are loners in the wild, she explained.

Because Thriller was a famous tiger, she was very popular with visitors and media, Hedren said. "She didn't care. She was not a diva and didn't mug for the camera. We all loved her for it."

Staff was trying to cope with Thriller's death, Hedren said. "It's very hard for all of us when these animals go away. Fortunately for Sabu and Thriller, they came in healthy and content. They had no problem with being in quarantine for 30 days. They adjusted so well."

Most of the animals at Shambala, which requires $75,000 in donations every month to stay open, have trouble adjusting because they have such abusive pasts, Hedren said.

Jackson, who died in 2009, often talked about his love of animals, but he never called to check on the tigers and he never sent any money to help pay for their care, Hedren said.

A year after the tigers arrived, Hedren said staff sent a package of photos of Sabu and Thriller and T-shirts and other memorabilia to Jackson's children, "but we never heard a word back. I just think it's odd."

A call to a spokesman for Jackson's estate was not immediately returned. The estate did not exist when the animals were transferred.

Another one of MJ's most famous pets was his monkey Bubbles who was initially kept at the Jackson family's Encino, Los Angeles, California, home, but was moved toNeverland Ranch in 1988. There, he slept in a crib in Jackson's bedroom, used the singer's toilet, and ate candy in the Neverland movie theater. It was later revealed in 2003 that Bubbles had matured into an aggressive adult chimp unsuitable as a companion animal. He was sent to a California animal sanctuary, where he was reported to have attempted suicide. When the sanctuary closed in 2004, Bubbles was moved to the Center for Great Apes in Wauchula, Florida, where he has been kept for several years.

JACKO'S DEATH DOCTOR WANTS JURY SEQUESTERED!!

A lawyer for Dr. Conrad Murray has re-appealed to a judge to sequester jurors during the trial into Michael Jackson's death, over fears they could be influenced by news coverage. Murray has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter amid accusations he administered the dose of anesthetic that killed the superstar in 2009, and he is due to stand trial next month (Sep11). His lawyers have previously requested that the jurors be isolated when the trial starts so they do not see any press coverage of the case, but Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor did not deem the ruling necessary.

However, Murray's legal team filed papers again on Thursday (18Aug11) in a second bid to have the jurors secluded, according to the Associated Press. The documents state, "There is reasonable expectation that Dr. Murray's trial will be the most publicised trial in history.
"There is sincere danger that a well-meaning juror will be more impressed with an 'expert' on television than one presented by the parties at trial. The possibilities are endless for jurors to find and communicate information from the many websites on the Internet such as Facebook, Twitter and Google.

"It is necessary to sequester the jury in order to ensure that it is free from outside influences and guarantee the defendant a fair trial by an impartial jury." A hearing on the issue is scheduled for next Thursday (25Aug11).

Michael Jackson's father Joe has lashed out at the pop star's former dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein for alleging his son was gay.Klein's office manager Jason Pfeiffer appeared on Extra last week, claiming he had a sexual relationship with the late Thriller hitmaker.Klein echoed the allegations, telling TMZ Pfeiffer was "the love of his (Jackson's) life".

He also recalled walking in on the two men with their shirts off.Klein admits he and Pfeiffer have been the target of "horrible death threats" since going public with the claims, which Joe Jackson calls "not true".And the patriarch has lashed out at Klein for breaking doctor/patient confidentiality.

He adds, "Michael was not gay."He (Klein) has no respect for Michael... to say things about him when he's gone is shameful. He's a doctor and knows better than to break his vows against a patient."Michael Jackson died on June 25 at the age of 50.

Michael Jackson's alleged abuse victim has cleared the King Of Pop's name by insisting the singer "never touched" him, according to the star's brother Jermaine. Jackson was the center of a 13-month police investigation after Evan Chandler accused the Thriller hitmaker of molesting his son Jordan in 1993. The star was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing in the courts, paying the then-teenager $22 million for "personal injuries arising out of claims of negligence" in return for dropping a civil suit against him.

Jordan has never spoken publicly about the case - but Jermaine claims the 29 year old has come forward since Jackson's death, admitting the late superstar never molested him. And Jermaine believes Jordan's dad Evan committed suicide earlier this month (Nov09) because his guilt over the false accusations was too much to bear. He says, "From the '93 case, they were accusing him (Jackson) of just the most horrible things. This kid's father has committed suicide because he just couldn't take it and now the kid has come forward and said Michael never touched him."
Officials ruled 56-year-old Evan Chandler's death a suicide after he was found with a gunshot wound to the head and a revolver in his hand at his home in New Jersey.

I knew Chandler would kill himself as the kid came forward. The legal implication could have led him straight to jail. What ever happened to that $22 million he got? Michael can slap him silly in heaven but wait? Chandler went to HELL!

La Toya Jackson refused to read any media reports about her brother Michael following his death.The King Of Pop suffered a cardiac arrest in June (09) and shocking details about his lifestyle and drug-taking in the years leading up to his death were subsequently exposed by the press.

But La Toya shunned news articles relating to her elder brother's passing. She says, "In the beginning, for the first two and a half months perhaps, I never watched television or saw magazines or anything because I chose not to. I didn't want to know what was really going on." The Los Angeles County Coroner ruled in August (09) the star was killed by a cocktail of strong prescription drugs.

INMATE SMASH DANCERS TO "THRILLER" PERFORMS TRIBUTE TO JACKO.

Amid the tropical heat of a Phillipine prison, convicted murderers, rapists and drug dealers on Saturday paid tribute to Michael Jackson with a reprise of their YouTube dance hit, "Thriller."

A rendition of Jackson's 1980s smash hit by prisoners at the Cebu Detention and Rehabilitation Center in the central Philippines garnered more than 24 million views since 2007, when prison supervisor Byron Garcia first uploaded it to the video-sharing Web site.

The prison has since posted other dance videos, including performances to Van Halen's "Jump," Queen's "Radio Ga Ga," and Phil Oakey and Giorgio Moroder's "Together in Electric Dreams."

Jackson, known as the "King of Pop," died Thursday in Los Angeles, less than two weeks shy of the first in a series of comeback concerts in London, England.

When he heard the news, Garcia, himself a fan of the 50-year-old pop icon, organized a free tribute performance by inmates for local people in the prison courtyard. More at CNN.
