Madonna threw a surprise party for her daughter Lourdes in New York this week to celebrate her first birthday as a teenager. The youngster turned 13 on Wednesday (14Oct09) and the pop superstar marked the landmark day by gathering family and friends for a lavish bash in Manhattan
Madonna, along with Lourdes' father Carlos Leon, booked out the Delicatessen restaurant in SoHo for the party, during which she presented her daughter with a red, velvet-look birthday cake, according to the New York Daily News.

Congrats to Lourdes the "little Star" I love that Madonna song. Did you see Lourdes recreate her mom's "like a virgin video?" with a wedding gown and all.

SINGER PATRICK WOLF ATTACKED AT MADONNA CONCERT!

Singer PATRICK WOLF has accused security staff at a recent MADONNA concert of assaulting him and his boyfriend for sharing a kiss in public. The gay British star claims he was handcuffed and "beaten up" by bouncers outside London's Wembley Arena after they threw him out for smooching his partner while watching Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour in September (08).
And Wolf, who was bedridden and forced to take painkillers while he recovered, insists the alleged attack was committed because of the pair's sexuality.

He tells music blog EQ, "Three songs in, me and my man were kissing and there were loads of conservative straight couples around us that complained. And then the bouncers came up to me and said, 'Can you stop that? This is a family venue.' No joke... "The bouncer said, 'You know we can do this the easy way or the violent way' and I said, 'I'm staying so you do whatever you want.' And then they just grabbed both of us. We were beaten up outside Wembley, handcuffed. These guys were like football bouncers.

"The police came and it just went on and on and on. My man's face covered in blood. I couldn't move for like a month. I had to lie in bed on painkillers for ages. They totally twisted my arm and my legs - it was just mad. "They are currently researching the CCTV - it's just really nuts. We basically got beaten up by the police." And as a result of the incident, the Bluebells hitmaker has vowed never again to listen to the Material Girl.

He adds, "You know it means I can't be bothered to listen to Madonna ever again - which is good because it means I have more time for better music. You live and you learn. "You get into scraps with bouncers the whole time, but that was one step up because there were like seven of them and they just wanted to have a go because they were bored. There was a lot of quite homophobic s**t going down which I was really p**sed about seeing - it was a Madonna concert, y'know!"

MADONNA GIVEN STRICT CHRISTMAS RULES WITH KIDS!

Madonna must obey a strict set of rules if she wants to spend Christmas with her children. The singer's estranged husband Guy Ritchie - who has decided to allow Madonna to stay at his UK mansion after previously refusing to let her sleep in the same house - has reportedly warned her not to bully the staff, throw tantrums or mention their impending divorce.

The 'RocknRolla' director has also told strict vegetarian Madonna she must not criticise children Lourdes, 12, Rocco, eight, and David Banda, three, for eating a traditional Christmas lunch of turkey and ham. A source said: "This Christmas is very special for Guy." Madonna landed in the UK on the 23rd to spend the festive period with her children. However, soon after arriving at her former marital home in London, Guy and the three children they raise together left so the singer could have a lengthy meeting with her lawyer Fiona Shackleton to discuss custody arrangements.

A source said: "It doesn't look like Madonna is that keen on having a family Christmas. The first thing she did when she arrived was have a meeting with her divorce lawyer. "That won't make things any easier when she is trying to keep things civil over the dinner table at Christmas. "It remains to be seen how much time Madonna and Guy will spend together as they've started off by doing their best to avoid each other."

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are locked in a bitter battle over who will have their children for Christmas. The British director is determined the former couple's sons - Rocco, eight, and adopted David, three - will enjoy a traditional British festive holiday with him, but Madonna is adamant they should spend the holidays with her and her 12-year-old daughter Lourdes - from her previous relationship with fitness trainer Carlos Leon - in New York.

A source close to the couple - who had the first stage of their divorce granted at a London high court in November - is quoted by Britain's Daily Mail newspaper as saying: "Under the terms of the divorce, it is actually up to Guy and Madonna to sort out the access. "It's not set in stone who has the boys on which days. The agreement is that Guy gets them four or five days a month in London, but that he can see them in New York, making the time anything up to two weeks a month. "They are at a total stalemate.

Madonna and Guy simply do not liaise at all on anything anymore - it all goes through their personal assistants." The couple are also reportedly stuck because Madonna cannot legally take the children to live permanently in the US unless Guy or an English court gives permission. It has been suggested Guy, 40, may insist Madonna, 50, buys him an apartment in New York as part of a deal to allow the three children to live in the city. Under the terms of the divorce - which was settled out of court - the pair are believed to have divided their property equally, with Guy taking none of his ex-wife's estimated $600 million fortune.

In the custody battle, 'Miles Away' singer Madonna is being represented by Fiona Shackleton, who has previously represented Sir Paul McCartney and Prince Charles in divorce cases. Guy has hired top lawyer Helen Ward alongside Stephen Cobb QC, an expert in the international relocation of children. Another source said: "Both sets of lawyers have still got their heads down. It is very complicated." Although it is unlikely the case will go to court, if Madonna does win the right to take Rocco and David to the US, there is the prospect of legal hearings in New York.

BREAKING NEWS: It's Official: Madonna and Guy Ritchie Divorcing.

Madonna's spokeswoman says the singer and Guy Ritchie are divorcing after 7 1/2 years together. In a statement co-signed by Ritchie's representative and e-mailed to The Associated Press, Liz Rosenberg says the couple had not agreed to a settlement yet.

"Guy Ritchie is responsible for wanting this divorce now," a source tellls Usmagazine.com. "He didn't want to wait to break the news, it had gone on along enough. This marriage was over a long time ago." Another insider tells Us: "All her friends and family have known all along. They had to keep it under wraps and really tried to work things out. They tried for years, actually.

"They thought their belief in Kabbalah could help," the source adds, "but it's unfortunately hard for Madonna to hold on to anybody in her life. Thank God she has the kids." The news comes after British papers reported Wednesday morning that a split announcement was imminent.

Citing unnamed sources, The Sun reports the couple want a divorce finalized by Christmas. Madonna, 50, and Ritchie, 40, "can't bear to live with the pretense any longer," a source told The Sun. "It's very sad. They were a great couple and brilliant parents. They just couldn't live together.

"Despite huge attempts to patch things up, they both knew deep down that divorce was in the cards. It wasn't a matter of 'if' but 'when.' They tried hard over the past few months, but their fighting was getting out of control. "The final straw came before Madonna started her U.S. tour."

Pop superstar MADONNA has taken a break from her gruelling world tour to enjoy a family day out in Greece. The Material Girl wrapped up the European leg of her Sticky & Sweet tour at the weekend (27Sep08) in Athens.

And she took a day off from her busy schedule on Sunday (28Sep08) to take in a spot of sightseeing in the Greek capital with her children Lourdes, 11, Rocco, eight, and adopted tot David Banda, three.

Husband Guy Ritchie did not join them for the day out. Madonna will kick off the U.S. and South American stint of her tour this Saturday (04Oct08) with her first show in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Madonna's due in Toronto next weekend.

After all that Vatican drama with Alanis Morisette I wrote about, now comes word from last night's reports that ma gurl Madonna dedicated "Like a Virgin" to the POPE! Good job Madge and that's the right pope too. Pop star Madonna, once accused by the Vatican of staging one of the most satanic shows in history, dedicated her hit "Like a Virgin" to the pope at a sold-out concert in Rome over the weekend.

"I dedicate this song to the pope, because I'm a child of God. All of you are also children of God," Madonna, 50, told the 60,000 fans that flocked to the Italian stop of her "Sticky & Sweet" world tour on Saturday.

MADONNA has vetoed her 11-year-old daughter LOURDES' plans to star in a new movie and banned her from any showbiz work until she has finished school. Lourdes - whose dad is fitness trainer Carlos Leon - has been approached to appear alongside Paul Bettany and Dakota Fanning in forthcoming comedy drama The Secret Life of Bees, reports America's Star magazine.

But a source tells the publication, "Madonna didn't work 'til after school and she wants it to be the same for Lourdes. She doesn't want her to enter that harsh world." However, the insider hints the pop superstar may have trouble keeping her daughter away from the bright lights of fame: "Lourdes is pretty determined, so I predict a battle in the future."

MADONNA'S HUSBAND TAKE THE CHILDREN TO THE BAR!

Movie director GUY RITCHIE entertains himself while his pop star wife MADONNA is on tour by taking his sons to the pub. The couple owns a bar near their home in Mayfair, London, and Ritchie has been taking eight-year-old Rocco and adopted tot David Banda, two, along to keep him company while he drinks. The Snatch director was photographed leaving the pub with Rocco at 11pm on Wednesday (27Aug08) night and the following evening, younger brother David and his nanny also joined Ritchie at The Punchbowl.

A source tells the Daily Star, "He is a sociable dad and just likes hanging out with his boys. Maybe he is also getting them in the swing of things so they can take over the business when they get older." However, there is no cause for Madonna to be concerned about her children while away on her Sticky & Sweet tour - Ritchie made sure his sons stayed well away from any alcohol and the boys remained under the supervision of their nanny. A spokesperson for Ritchie was unavailable for comment.

Pop superstar MADONNA stunned security staff at an airport in Germany on Thursday (28Aug08) night - by turning up wearing a bathrobe. The Holiday hitmaker arrived at Schoenefeld airport after performing at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin as part of her Sticky & Sweet world tour.

But staff at the venue were shocked to see the star wander through security checks wearing nothing more than a fluffy white robe and black trainers. The singer's gown had the cheeky slogan "Dancing Queen" printed on the back.

Meanwhile she is set to expand her empire after reportedly investing in a line of haircare products. The pop superstar - currently on her Sticky & Sweet world tour - has invested in longtime stylist Andy LeCompte's new West Hollywood, California salon and upcoming haircare line, according to reports. A source tells US magazine Star: "Madonna sees how much Jessica Simpson made off of her hairdo line with Ken Paves, and she wants a piece of the action." A spokesperson for LeCompte tells WENN: "I have no comment on this." As WENN went to press, a spokesperson for Madonna had not returned calls.

GUY RITCHIE has branded rumours he and wife MADONNA are set to renew their wedding vows as "rubbish" - because he spent too much money on her 50th birthday celebrations. The couple were rumoured to be planning to remarry in a Kabbalah ceremony later this month (Aug08).

But the moviemaker is adamant they won't be heading down the aisle for a second time - because their lavish 2000 marriage in the Scottish Highlands was all they needed. ENVIRONMENTALISTS SLAM MADONNA TOUR!

MADONNA's upcoming Sticky & Sweet world tour has been criticized by environmental groups - for not taking enough eco-friendly precautions.The pop superstar kicks off her series of live dates in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday (23Aug08) night. And green activists have slammed the singer for the massive carbon footprint they claim will be created by the tour. Madonna's 49-date trek will see 250 staff members - including nine wardrobe assistants, 12 seamstresses, a personal trainer and a masseuse - 30 wardrobe trunks and the tour's stage set flown around the world.

And experts from Carbonfootprint.com predict that the trek will produce more than 1,500 tons of carbon emissions. John Buckley from the website insists that Madonna's team should have done more to protect the environment. He says, "This is a massive amount of carbon emissions even for a top celebrity icon."However, these emissions will be swamped by those caused by the crowds of concertgoers." The Holiday hitmaker headlined the Live Earth concert in London last year (07) where she pledged her commitment to saving the planet.

MADONNA PLANS FOR TOUR SPECTACULAR.

MADONNA's upcoming Sticky & Sweet shows will be split up into four sections Pimp, Old School, Gypsy and Rave. The pop star's latest concert trek will begin in Wales this weekend (23Aug08) and details have emerged as to what has gone into the production. According to Madonna's publicist, the pop star will travel the world with a 250-strong troupe of crew members, dancers, musicians and assistants, 3,500 individual clothing items, 69 guitars and 16 caterers.

The rep estimates that Madonna and the band have spent over 650 hours perfecting the show. The Pimp section will feature an homage to the 1920s, the Old School segment will pay tribute to 1980s New York City, while the Gypsy part of the show will include "three Romanian gypsy musicians". The Rave section will feature Madonna's high-energy disco numbers.

MADONNA & RITCHIE'S PUB TO BE INVESTIGATED.

The London pub part-owned by MADONNA and GUY RITCHIE is facing investigation by trading standards officials amid allegations of unfair pricing strategies. The Hollywood couple bought shares worth $5 million (£2.5 million) in The Punchbowl - just around the corner from their west London home - in February (08). But the landlord has been accused of having two different pricelists for drinks - one for locals and another for tourists. One complainant, Brian Richardson, claimed the barman had admitted to having separate tariffs when he protested about the price of his pint of beer.

Richardson claims he was charged $7.80 (£3.90) for one beer, when he had previously paid $7.00 (£3.50). He says, "On Monday I paid £3.50 for a pint, now all of a sudden it's £3.90. I was shocked. I complained to staff. They have got two prices - regulars prices and non-regulars prices. "There is no price list on the wall. I don't mind paying more but it is completely arbitrary. It is not the money, it is the price hike. It is outrageous." The Punchbowl is now facing an official investigation by Westminster council.

Sue Jones, head of trading standards at the local council, says, "In light of these allegations we will be seeking to make contact with the landlord. This may well constitute unfair trading procedures and this is something the council would look into." However, the pub's assistant manager, Henry Heaton, has denied the price fixing accusations: "That should not be the case and it won't be the case. As far as I'm aware, there is no change (in price). There is no difference... Everyone should be paying the same." The Ritchies are believed to have a 20 per cent stake in The Punchbowl, which counts Hollywood stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Barbra Streisand among its regulars.

MADONNA SERENADED BY HOME STATE CROWD.

MADONNA was serenaded by fans when she returned to her home state of Michigan on Sunday (03Au08) to show off her Africa documentary I AM BECAUSE WE ARE. The pop superstar doesn't turn 50 until 16 August, but 500 fans sang Happy Birthday to her at the event in Traverse City.

She was joined at the screening by her father Silvio, stepmother Joan, daughter Lourdes, and fellow Michigan native, filmmaker Michael Moore. Madonna - who grew up nearby - told those who turned out, "You can take the girl out of Michigan but you can't take Michigan out of the girl. "I don't get here enough. It's great to be bringing my movie to a place that feels familiar."

We hear she is reportedly studying the case files of several Malawian orphans as she attempts to adopt another child from the impoverished nation. The singer adopted tot David Banda from the African country in 2006 and subsequently launched her own charity, Raising Malawi, to help improve conditions there. And despite fighting a two-year battle to gain permanent custody of Banda, she is now said to be planning to adopt another Malawian child--a girl this time.

A source at the charity tells British newspaper The Daily Star, "Three orphanages have been visited already and photographs have been sent to her. "It is thought we are already down to a shortlist of ten girls aged between six and 18 months."

MADONNA'S ADOPTED SON HAS A NEW HALF BROTHER.

MADONNA's adopted son DAVID BANDA has a new brother - his biological father has a new baby son. Yohane Banda's wife Flora gave birth to the yet-to-be named boy at the Mchinji District Hospital in Malawi - the same clinic where little David was born in 2005. Yohane, 33, tells the Associated Press, "I am over the moon. We thought of keeping this birth a secret. But now we are happy to announce the birth of our son."

The new dad handed David over to an orphanage as a baby in 2005, shortly after his then-wife Marta died from childbirth complications. He claimed he couldn't afford to feed the tot. Madonna found the boy and took him back to her home in Britain the following year - although her adoption of him was only legally finalised in 2008. The pop superstar was criticised for choosing a child who still had a parent, in a country with no legal framework for adoption.

Foolish ass African men. Now he has money to take care of his new baby with the new wife! Only God knows what Madonna may have paid him. Hope Madonna doesn't go visiting there and hurt this poor kid's psyche!
