HANOI ROCKS SPLIT FOR A FINAL TIME.

Finnish band HANOI ROCKS have split following a career spanning nearly 20 years. The band - formed in 1979 - have announced that the end of their career will be marked by a greatest hits CD, set for release in November (08) and a farewell tour of Japan in spring 2009. The group will also play several concerts in their native Finland in March (09) to officially end their time together.

A statement from the band reads, "Hanoi Rocks have decided to break up by the end of the year 2008. Michael Monroe and Andy McCoy feel that they've taken the band as far as it can go and now wish to go their separate ways. "All commitments until the end of the year, including the UK tour starting in London on Halloween, will naturally be honoured.

"The band wishes to thank all their fans, co-workers and business partners for their continued love and support throughout the years.” Hanoi Rocks first split in 1985 but was revived by Monroe and McCoy in 2002.

I met that band some years back who told me my name was actually a city name in their country of Finland, so the fight begun for the domain Kemi.com. Kemi, Finland is located here.
