I interviewed her in Ibadan, saw her at the Divas Rock Concert as a surprise performer and now she sings even more. Could Alade be the new Beyonce of Nigeria? Some say it's Tiwa Savage or Seyi Shay but when you start singing National Anthems and next thing you know doing it in public places like Soccer matches and Inaugurations, you are the Beyonce. 

In the spirit of celebrating Nigeria’s Independence, singing sensation, Yemi Alade, presents ‘Arise, O Compatriots (Nigerian National Anthem)’ which has been lifted off her ‘Aristo Music: Mixtape’ which will drop after her debut album.

The ‘Bamboo’ and ‘Ghen Ghen love’ crooner does what she does best on the track and accompanied by a piano, she soulfully sings the first and second stanzas of the anthem.

In a phone chat with Friday Treat, she said: ‘I wish everyone a Happy Independence Day. I am praying for a prosperous and united Nigeria despite our religious/ethnic differences.”
