Toronto Police's 51 Division's response to this shooting was POOR. I am waiting for a call back from the Suprintendent John Tanouye, Deputy Chief Peter Sloly and even Corporate communications. Several parents were tweeting and Facebooking me trying to find out what was going on with their concert going kids and all I got was an arrogant set of cops at 51 Division scrambling to find out what was going on themselves and not letting any immediate info about safety out. They were doing things THE OLD FASHION way when everything was unfolding on twitter before everyone's eyes.
I am a Toronto Police Community volunteer in my area and a Crime Victim Advocate among other things, and till the connection between the community and cops is improved, we collectively cannot stop this problem of firearms being packed into concerts. It's happening in the USA, Nipsey Hussle, Tyga and Honey Cocaine and even French Montana's concert in Toronto has shooting outside the club and now Young Jeezy.
There are no suspects in custody, one man is in serious condition at a trauma hospital. I will update you on his condition. It is reported that 4 shots were fired INSIDE the venue. The Sound Academy has been the concert venue for so many big shows here.---MsKemi @HipHossip @Snitchlady @MyYoungToronto
Anyone with info about the suspect should call 416-808-5100 and ask for Detective Hintzner at 51 Division
