A mother, father and son are dead and three people are in hospital in a suspected case of carbon monoxide poisoning in Brampton.

Emergency personnel found the victims in a home on Linden Crescent, near Dixie Road and Queen Street, shortly before 2 a.m. Monday.

Police say they found a portable heater inside the house and they are investigating whether the occupants were using it to warm the home in the cold weather.

The three people who remain in hospital are in non-life-threatening condition, police told CP24.
