Children FREED by rival groups at CAR #HNNKids

BBC reports: More than three-hundred-and-fifty (350) children held by rival armed groups in the Central African Republic have been freed, in line with an agreement reached earlier this month. (They were freed in separate ceremonies near the central town of Bambari.) The UN children's agency UNICEF -- which helped to broker the deal -- said their release was a real step towards peace. UNICEF estimates that between six and ten thousand children are currently connected with the country's armed factions; they include child soldiers as well as others being used as cooks, messengers or for sexual purposes.
