Pop singer Rihanna was forced to take a break from the European leg of her latest tour Monday, after she fell ill in Malmo, Sweden.The evening's show was cancelled after a doctor concluded the singer was suffering from severe exhaustion and "not capable of carrying out the concert," according to event promoter Live Nation."I am sorry to everyone who was coming out to my show in Malmo, Sweden. I was so excited to perform for you all.It would have been a great time... so much better than being sick with the flu, ugh! I'm really disappointed I couldn't be there," Rihanna said in a statement.The 23-year-old Barbadian singer, who was briefly hospitalized according to reports, also apologized to her fans via Twitter and posted a photo of her arm attached to an intravenous drip.Organizers are seeking a new date to hold a rescheduled show in Malmo.
The singer is scheduled to perform for two nights in Stockholm on Tuesday and Wednesday, before continuing on to Germany.Rihanna kicked off the tour — promoting Loud, her fifth studio album — in the U.S. in June. She is slated to wrap the international jaunt in London in December.
