REMEMBERING SHANE "DJ PLATNUM" WILLIAMS, THE BELOVED TORONTO TEENAGE PARTY DJ.

Today marks a year that Toronto 19-year-old  Shane "DJ Platnum" Williams was gunned down coming off a transit bus to drop a CD at a cousin's house. He was the main DJ known in the circle of Toronto's teen parties. What is sad about this case is that when I spoke to the detective in the case  Det/Sgt Peter Trimble of the Toronto Police Homicide Squad, he said there were "no new leads because no one's talking. Shane was unfortunately at the wrong place and the wrong time." He encouraged people to keep sending in tips.

Shane was the son of Asylum Entertainment CEO Cameron Holder above in a news conference days after the murder in 2011. A well known DJ himself in the Toronto party scene and owner of Toronto's new Asylum internet radio. The silence deafening homicide cases in Toronto is so overwhelming. Nobody wants to be a witness and get these murder charges laid on the murderers. However I always tell people to keep calling Crime Stoppers if they know the occupants of the vehicle of the drive-by shooting on 4020 Dundas St in Toronto.

UPDATE: March 3rd 2012: The family had a vigil that I hosted last night at the scene of the murder. Special thanks to the media that came. I will post the video later. Below are some pictures and the rest of the album is here.

I spoke with CTV about the silence in the community
