#HNNEducation: What condition is your kid's TEXTBOOK in?

TEXTBOOK TROUBLES? What condition is your child's textbook in? Do they have to share with other students or keep them at school because there aren't enough to go aroundBelow is a sample of what some American parents said.

Nichelle Gaines This is no surprise! Our legislators keep stressing the importance of education, yet when its time for budget cuts, our school systems is the first to lose funding.

Holly Renee Barnett My son only has one text book and does the rest of his work on his school computer. But there is no excuse for the kids that need text books not to have them due to lack of funds, get it together NC!!

Gwen Allen My high school kids don't bring home a textbook. Some have online access but that is so dumb. What about kids who don't have internet access?

Lorraine Moss Corbett They can't bring them home because there isn't enough to go around and they haven't received new ones in a long time. The last new math book that was received was the wrong edition so they couldn't even use it and they weren't allowed to return them. And they wonder why our students can't pass the required state tests!!!

David Wall I taught for a principal in Franklin County who didn't believe in textbooks and during the summer while we were out, she had the custodian move the reading books to the landfill. She also told us to throw away our language books because we weren't suppose to teach grammar. How is that for an education pitfall? That wasn't many years ago.

Sgbt Truelove Ya what books. My kids are assigned text books they have them in the classrooms to use but not enough to give every student. I can remember in my day walking around with the8 or 9 of them everyday.
