#HNNCrime The REAL reason why Nigerians HATE Nigerian Police Force officers! @PoliceNG

NPF Officer Awodeyi
Renowned Nigerian Journalist Wale Ojo Lanre wrote on his Facebook page

"The face of a murderer in Police Uniform! Adesola Awodeyi
This face is handsome, but he is a devil incarnate .One of the bad eggs in the Nigerian Police  A murderer par excellence. This young man is the chief torturer at B Division, Oke Aro of Akure Police. He tortured the only son of Raheem Akinfolayemi Badmus to death on the allegation of stealing a phone
!"

The allegations against Officer Awodeyi continues and it brings back the whole point of what Nigerians HATE about the NPF. Obviously there are good and bad cops everywhere. Look at the race riots going on now in Ferguson, Missouri, USA.

I held a poll during the week called #IHateNPF. The hashtag allows you to tell what you hate about the Nigerian Police Force. Below are some answers from My NPF page on Facebook which is a fave page at the NPF's own page. With a new IGP, maybe we can all work together to foster a new police force.

#IHateNPF why do you hate the NPF?

Edmond Ozegbe Nigerians hate police but when in troube, they still run to the police for safty which kind hatred is that. The truth is that Most Nigerians are criminally minded and want to succeed in their evil way without been questioned by anybody which police will not allow.

Haruna Umar Ibrahim Kemi, it is just few of the police that are responsible for the bad name, generally, I find police helpful and friendly. Let me share a story with you. In 2009, I was driving to Lagos from Abuja, while approaching Akure, Ondo State a bus with about 20 passengers owned by the Ankpa Local Government Mass Transit Service lost control and hit my vehicle from behind, only minor injuries were sustained. However, I reported the accident to the police at a station not too far from the accident scene. The police mobilised and we reached the scene and the two vehicles were towed to the police station and we gave statements of had happened. Obviously, the damaged on my vehicles was much such that I could not proceed with the journey. In the presence of the police we decided to settle matter, the driver of the bus owned up and claimed responsibility for the accident, he promised to pay for the repair of my vehicle but did not have money. We agreed to return to our various towns and meet at the same police post at an agreed date. I went back with my mechanic who accessed the damage and gave cost. To cut the story short, the driver of the bus could not pay but promised to bring the money to the police. I had to go back to Abuja and left the matter with the police, few days later, the police called me informing me that the bus driver had brought the money, but I could not travel over 300km to collect the money, I asked the police if they could send the money to me via my bank account. I am surprised, they obliged and the next day I recieved alert. This is wonderful, never, had I expected I would get a kobo from the police. Since then, I have become a defender of the police and encourage people who have personal issues to involve the police, they may be able to get justice without resorting to courts.

Haruna Umar Ibrahim Kemi, if I will die and be borne again, after graduating I will join the Nigerian police for sure. We should be positive about the service because it is closer to people than any other government services. The police needs us as we also need them!

Delight J Bwai What a shame many Nigerians knw hw 2 complain but cnt profer solution. U people dat are complaining are u 100 percent perfect? d fact dat some police officers are corrupt does nt mean all d police are corrupt. If u re nt satisfied wit d services of Nigerian police force, join it nd contribute ur own quarter or u keep ur mouth short. As 4 me, I luv police nd its my greatest dream 2 b one after my degree. NPF I luv u. Keep on wit d gud work. If there is bad, there must be good and if there is fake, there must b original
