Canada is evacuating its three-member mobile laboratory team from Sierra Leone after people in their hotel complex tested positive for Ebola.
The Public Health Agency of Canada says the Canadians had no contact with the sick individuals and are not themselves showing signs of illness.
In an emailed statement, the agency says the risk is low that any of the Canadians is infected.
It says the three will remain in voluntary isolation and will be closely monitored on their way home and after they return to Canada.
The agency says that Canada remains committed to helping contain the Ebola outbreak and is preparing to send another team to Sierra Leone once steps have been taken to ensure a safe environment.
It is not clear when the Canadians will fly back to Canada or by what means.
