Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has condoled Senator Rashidi Ladoja, a former Governor of the state, on the death of his mother, Alhaja Halimotu Ladoja at the age of 94.
The governor, in a statement issued in Ibadan on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Festus Adedayo, said that the passing away of the matriarch of the Ladoja family was unfortunate.
``Even though our dear Mama, Alhaja Halimotu Ladoja, died at the ripe age of 94, nevertheless, we are still saddened with her demise.
``She was a not only a devout Muslim but also a quintessential mother, who was caring, loving and an epitome of motherhood. Besides, Mama was also a good example in philanthropy; she was always ready and prepared to share whatever she had with the less privileged.
``This is why Mama deserves to be celebrated in death rather than mourned,’’ he said.
While condoling Senator Ladoja and the entire Ladoja family over the death of Alhaja Halimotu, Governor Ajimobi prayed the Almighty Allah to grant her Aljanah Firdaus, and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
As you know last October the my dad another Governor lost his mom last October 2013 and Ladoja and Ajimobi were all there to condole with my family. All the elderly moms of Governors have now passed away. Ajimobi is my grandma's nephew if you don't know. My grandma was 102. Both Governors above are possibly running against each other in 2015. Oyo state politics is one I stay out of.
