Since I returned to Nigeria August 2012 after 38 years abroad, my work has become more exciting! I sit down all day on DSTV blogging music and watching all these music channels from Trace to MTV Base to Sound City and more.
The one that strikes me the most is Channel O, a south African based channel that has a right mix of videos and programming like abroad. Everyone has that mix but Channel O does it well. Now the station turns 15 years old today. Happy Birthday!
Channel O is a satellite pay TV service for pan-African households. The channel broadcasts a variety of music such as Kwaito, Mbhaqanga, Gospel (African and International), Hip hop, and many other genres. It is also shown in the mornings on Magicworld.
