Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew, Chicago police are expected to charge Hudson's sister's estranged husband, William Balfour, with the three homicides. According to a spokesperson for the Chicago Police Department, the 27-year-old Balfour, who has been in custody since the October 24 slayings on a parole violation, was transferred to Chicago police custody on Monday (December 1), after being served with an arrest warrant.
Balfour was later transported to the Wentworth area, where he will be held pending approval of the charges by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
During a closed hearing last month, investigators presented evidence that Balfour had a gun matching the weapon used in the murders; he was scheduled for another parole violation hearing on Wednesday.
