BET launches U.K. channel at a London party last night.

BET Networks finally launched a new TV channel in the United Kingdom. The company is planning to bring British viewers such BET shows as "106 & Park," "American Gangster," "Hell Date," "The BET Honors," "College Hill" and "Meet the Faith." Also part of the lineup will be BET News specials, including "Life and Death in Darfur: Jeff Johnson Reports" and "Hip Hop vs. America." In addition, BET said it will add more regional content down the road. BET will be offered free-to-air on the digital satellite platform beginning Feb. 28. Available via the Sky Guide, BET will be accessible to more than 8.8 million digital satellite homes.

BET already reaches a total of 87 million households in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.
