Lil’ Kim is coming to central Illinois. The platinum-selling rapper is to perform at 7 p.m. June 12 at the Canopy Club in Urbana. Kim, 34, first hit it big with the group Junior M.A.F.I.A. in the mid-1990s. Her solo albums include “Hard Core” (1996), “The Notorious K.I.M.” (2000) and “La Bella Mafia” (2003). Kim’s most recent album, “The Naked Truth” (2005), debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart, despite the fact that she was serving a yearlong prison sentence for perjury. She’s said to be at work on another album to be released this year.
