The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has opened a criminal investigation after the rapper The Game tweeted the number for the sheriff's Compton station, prompting hundreds of calls and overwhelming the emergency phone system.
Sheriff's Lt. Suzan Young says "the phones started ringing like crazy" at around 5:20 p.m. Friday. Sheriff's Capt. Mike Parker tells the Los Angeles Times that The Game told his 580,000 followers that if they wanted an internship with him, they should call the number. Parker says all of the phone lines were jammed for more than two hours.
He says sheriff's investigators are documenting the actions in a criminal complaint and plan to forward to the district attorney's office for possible criminal charges.
Don't even waste your time with taxpayer money Lt. Suzan Young . That country is in serious debt! The LAPD and similar departments out of that jurisdiction are the WORST police departments in the world. Now if it was a homicide, won't you like everyone calling? SMDH!
Update: Now I hear the cops even did back and forth with him telling him to DELETE his tweet and so why is there a criminal investigation opened when u tell someone to delete evidence? In another tweet, the Game wrote
"Yall can track a tweet down but cant solve murders ! Dat was an accident but maybe now yall can actually do yall job !!!! #iSpeak4ThePeople"
The Game's album comes out August 23rd, 2011 and we 're supporting it in CANADA! Free speech rules!
Latest Update 8/17/11: The Game apologizes blaming it on his friend. Either way I think it was a good lesson for all. People need to interact more with police in preventing crimes.
