Calvin Harris has been crowned the world’s highest paid DJ after raking in $46 million in the past year.
Editors at Forbes magazine estimate the Scottish hitmaker earned the big bucks between August, 2012 and August, 2013, easily making him number one in their new World’s Highest Paid DJs list.
Harris, who has played over 100 live shows, averaging $195,000 per performance, credits the increasing popularity of dance music in recent years for his monumental success, adding, “I happened to be in the right place at the right time.”
Dutch star Tiesto came in second place with $32 million, while France’s David Guetta was third with $30 million.
Swedish House Mafia and Deadmau5 rounded out the top five with $25 million and $21 million, respectively.
Other DJs and producers featured on the countdown include Avicii, Afrojack, Skrillex and Steve Aoki.
