#HNNCrime Oscar Pistorius spends first night behind bars.

Sentencing was just handed down for South African athlete Oscar Pistorius, the Blade Runner. The judge sentenced him to five years in prison for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Pistorius was also given a three-year suspended sentence for a firearms charge.

The prosecution had called for a minimum 10-year sentence; the defense for community service and house arrest.

Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide but cleared of murder and may even serve only 10 months if he has good behaviour in that slammer.
