Dan Nwomeh is the Special Assistant on Media and Communication to the Minister of Health in Nigeria. Dan just tweeted all day about the latest on Rivers state's outbreak.

The oil city has more than 50 potential runaways now that need to be quarantined. Many are said to be holed up in churches and some left the state to nearby Akwa Ibom, Abia and Imo states. It keeps getting worse and the Nigerian Feds need to clamp down.

There has to be aggressive education which I haven't seen much of ON THE STREETS. I am doing my part in my community. I can't reach a lot of people. I manage a 24 news network alone and there has been N1.9B dished out to the states. Professor Chukwu and his team NEED to MOVE quickly! It only takes one of those escaped traveling patients to ENTER my hometown Ibadan>>The LARGEST CITY in West Africa. This panic is created fast and the ignorance spreads faster than anything. Last weekend I was educating okada operators about the risk of carrying too many passengers.
