Chimamanda Adichie |
December Fool Joke |
Some people are buzzing in Nigeria saying they heard me on Beyonce's album Flawless. Why?? Go to my Reverbnation.com/HipHossip account and hear my voice first. It's the same as Chima Adichie so I played the December Fool thing.
I once met Chima years ago while I was visiting my old school The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in West Philly and stopped by to see my brother who was at Drexel University where I had to attend a media related event. She may not remember but her voice actually sounds like mine.
Chima is a young Nigerian writer. She has been called "the most prominent" of a "procession of critically acclaimed young anglophone authors is succeeding in attracting a new generation of readers to African literature" I see a Nobel Prize for literature coming her way some day.

“I was going through videos on femininity on Youtube, when I came across this video of this incredible Nigerian author, Chimamanda Adichie. Everything she said is exactly how I feel. My message in this album was finding the beauty in imperfection, I had this image of this trophy and me accepting these awards and kind of training myself to be a champion and at the end of the day when you go through all of these things, is it worth it? I mean, you get this trophy and you’re like, ‘I basically starved, I have neglected all the people that I love, I’ve conformed to what everybody else thinks I should be and I have this trophy. What does that mean?"
Bottom line is another Nigerian connection to Bey's music heritage. Remember she said "4" was inspired by Fela now Flawless inspired by Chima.
