DRAKE'S EX GAL IS SUING HIM FOR "MARVIN'S" ROOM ROYALTIES!

Drunken phone calls to exes never end well. In Drake’s case, his hit 2011 single Marvin’s Room — a song about drunk-dialing a former girlfriend — has landed Degrassi‘s biggest vet in a lawsuit, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ericka Lee has revealed herself as the girl on the other end of the track’s phone call and is now suing Drake (a.k.a. Aubrey Graham) over song royalties. Lee filed the lawsuit on Thursday in California federal court, claiming the pair had a romantic and business relationship between early 2010 and mid-2011. In the span of their relationship, Lee alleges, they exchanged song lyrics and discussed joint business ventures.

Lee and the Toronto-born rapper allegedly worked on Marvin’s Room together last year and had agreed on splitting the proceeds, according to the suit. “Plaintiff’s contribution is highly significant to the overall work,” says the complaint in the lawsuit. Drake acknowledged Lee’s contributions via texts; one reading “U basically made that song” and another, “It’s s–t without you.”Lee’s name was left off the record, and purportedly credited only as “Syren Lyric Muse.”

After the breakup, Lee alleges that Drake sent her a text message offering her 2% of “publishing royalties.” When Lee hired a lawyer in November, the plaintiff alleges that Drake made threatening phone calls, telling her, “What the f–k is your problem?” He later allegedly offered her “4-5%” of publishing rights and an additional US$50,000.

Lee’s lawsuit demands that she receive a co-writer credit on the song as well as compensation for damages, according to the Hollywood Reporter account. The music video for Marvin’s Room has been viewed more than 39 million times on YouTube and is one of Drake’s most notable singles.
